✅ What to Look For
🏙️ Local Insights — Private Tutor in Lagos
Lagos is Nigeria's economic powerhouse and Africa's most populous city, home to over 20 million people hustling across the mainland and island. From the upscale boutiques of Victoria Island and Lekki Phase 1 to the buzzing markets of Balogun and Computer Village in Ikeja, service providers here operate at a pace and scale unmatched anywhere else in West Africa. The city's vibrant owambe culture means weekends are packed with weddings, parties, and events that keep service professionals booked solid.

💵 Pricing Note
Lagos prices tend to be 20-40% higher than other Nigerian cities due to higher demand, cost of living, and transport costs. Island locations (VI, Ikoyi, Lekki) command premium rates compared to mainland areas like Ikeja or Surulere.
🚌 Getting Around
Lagos traffic is legendary — plan appointments around rush hours. Use the BRT buses along major corridors, danfo for shorter mainland routes, or ride-hailing apps like Bolt and Uber. For island appointments, budget extra time for Third Mainland Bridge or Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge traffic. Okada (motorcycle taxis) are banned on major roads but keke napep runs in some mainland areas.
📅 Best Time to Book
Avoid booking services on Friday evenings and Saturdays during December — owambe season means most service providers are fully booked for weddings and end-of-year parties. Midweek (Tuesday-Thursday) bookings usually get faster responses and sometimes lower prices.
