Opening your account

Your BVN or NIN, and your limits

One ID number and your date of birth open your account in about a minute. Here is why we ask, how to find yours, and what each level lets you do.

Why we ask

By law, every bank account in Nigeria needs a verified BVN or NIN. It only confirms your name. It cannot move money or show your balance, and we keep only a one-way code of it.

Find yours

NIN: dial *346# from the phone line you registered it with. BVN: dial *565*0# from the line linked to your bank.

The tracking ID printed on a NIN slip is not your NIN.

Send it like this

The 11 digits and your date of birth exactly as on your slip, in one message: 12345678901 15/06/1990.

If the date does not match, check it against your slip, or send your other ID (BVN instead of NIN, or the other way round).

Your daily limits

Tier 1 (phone only): ₦50,000 a day. Tier 2 (BVN or NIN): ₦200,000 a day. Tier 3: ₦1,000,000 a day.

Tier 3 needs both your BVN and NIN, a face scan, a government ID and a proof of address from the last 3 months, checked by our team. Type "Start Tier 3" in the chat to begin.

Questions people ask

Why does TrustAm need my BVN or NIN?

Every bank account in Nigeria must be tied to a verified identity. Your BVN or NIN only confirms your name; it cannot move money or show your balance.

I do not have my NIN or BVN with me. What do I do?

Dial *346# from the line you registered your NIN with, or *565*0# from the line linked to your bank for your BVN. Then send the number with your date of birth.

It says my date of birth does not match.

Send it exactly as printed on your NIN slip or card, like 15/06/1990. If you are not sure of it, send your other ID instead.

How do I raise my limit to ₦1,000,000 a day?
